Hip-hop fashion is all about bling. If you’re a playa looking to add some bling to your wardrobe, but aren’t quite sure where to start, there are a variety of accessories to get you started in defining your style.
There are a few symbols that are hip-hop icons, and picking one of these is good place to start adding some rapper bling to your style. For instance, if you pick the dice as your iconic symbol of choice, you’d use it everywhere – your necklace, your belt buckle, rings, earrings, etc. This is a safe way to sport the look of a playa, and to create a “brand” for yourself.
If you want to be a bit more risky and edgy with your gangsta style, try mixing a variety of symbols and materials. Mix gold and silver to create a unique style – but keep in mind, always diamonds, diamonds, diamonds! Diamonds are the cornerstones of gangsta-bling, and no hip-hop style is complete without it.
For individual style, double up with multiple pieces and various styles and symbols. Wear two, three, four or even more necklaces, and mix a dollar sign pendant with a Celtic cross, or skull and crossbones pendant with a thick braided chain. Add a jeans chain to hold your keys to make you look rugged, masculine and tough. Add an oversized dollar sign belt buckle to bling up your everyday style, and for extra bling, try some metal teeth grillz for true gangsta style. To look rough and fight ready, wear multiple rings on your hands, or try sporting a row of iced-out knuckle rings. No other playa will want to mess with you when he sees you coming wearing this type of gear.
Ladies love the bling – so the more the better when trying to get the attention of women. They like a man who is confident enough in his virile sexuality to wear jewelry. And they like a playa who shows off his wealth. A hot playa has to get his woman blinged-out as well – he can’t roll with a lady who is not as stylin’ as he is!
